Margo Donahue Obituary

Margo Patricia (Wallace) Donahue
October 18, 1963 ~ June 12, 2016
Corral de Tierra, CA
Born in Bremerton, WA, Margo spent her youth in San Diego, CA and later moved to the Monterey area, most recently residing in Corral de Tierra the past eight years. Margo joined our Lord after losing her courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, June 12 surrounded by her family and friends.
Margo is survived by her husband Dennis Donahue, stepson Preston Donahue, mother Mary Ann Hendren (John), father Earnest Dean Wallace (Susie), sisters Rosemary Metcalf (Mike) and Julie Wallace Madrigal as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Margo was comforted by family, including her sister-in-law Karen Donahue Cross, and friends including Sandy and Sue Storm, Nancy Dickerman, Darlyne Hoyt, Carol Stornetta, Joyce Dodd-Gombrich, Lisa St. Mary-Johnson, and many others.
Margo graduated from Crawford High School and San Diego State with a Bachelor's of Science in Communications, with honors.
Margo was a consummate salesperson, starting her career at Pac Tel Business Systems, then becoming a sales specialist for early stage technology start-ups. She was a tireless hunter who built a Rolodex of long-lasting relationships. Margo started Harvest Blade and Supply, Inc., in 2011 while dealing with her first diagnosis of breast cancer. Over six years, she built a wonderful firm that now services more than 200 commercial food processing customers all over the USA. Margo was very proud of the company she built in Harvest Blade and was comforted by the fact that Dennis will continue to operate the business. Margo was a member of many local and regional professional organizations including the Salinas Chamber of Commerce, Grower-Shipper Association and California League of Food Processors.
Margo loved to entertain, travel and play her beloved sport, golf. She loved competition - whether it was in her work, playing cards or athletics. She played competitive team play golf for Pasadera and Corral de Tierra country clubs. She was best known for her post-event celebrations with her teammates and competitors, where the wine flowed and bets were collected. Living in Monterey County was in her destiny after living 15 years in San Carlos, CA. She and her then-to-be husband Dennis had their first romantic weekend at Pebble Beach. They later married on the 18th green of the golf course. She was an active member of Shoreline Community Church, participating as an usher as well as leading the Angel Tree Gift Giving ministries for a number of years which enables incarcerated prisoners who have accepted Christ to engage with their children through surrogate gift giving.
Margo's husband and family want to thank the many who cared for her including the doctors, internists and nurses at VNA and Hospice of Monterey County, Pacific Cancer Care, and Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. Donations can be made to American Cancer Society or Central Coast VNA & Hospice.
Private family services will be held at a later date.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Margo's passing. I loved being her sidekick on many travels while working together at Raptor Systems. So much laughter and fun, I really can't tell you how sad I feel, I'm so sorry, Dennis. Take care, Tony

Margo had a major impact on my life. Starting out of college she was my manager and soon became my mentor. No matter how hard she pushed, I respected her not only for her sales aptitude but for her love of life. I owe my own career to what she taught me. Her strength and fight always showed courage. We will miss her but she will always have a special place in our hearts. God Bless.

Dennis,

I was sad to hear this news but will always remember Margo as so full of life. She loved to talk golf and knew the game quite well. And, on sales calls, her famous calling card was to take muffins to morning meetings, cookies to afternoon meetings. Needless to say she made a lot of friends from that, but she won business because she earned it with outstanding sales campaigns. I know she is now teaching sales training to a bunch of new recruits in Heaven.

In peace...

Fro

Margo brought so much to my sons life. Love, adventure, competition, and companionship. My observation near the end was that they were Best Friends also. There are times when you have to love someone but to be a real friend is so rare and special when you give them your all no matter what. Dennis' sister, Karen and I were alone with Margo at the very end. Dennis never left her side fo days and i believe she was truly at peace and waited for him to leave her side before she passed into God's hands to relieve his burden.
May God continue to Bless them both.

Dennis and Family,
Steven and I mourn with you for the loss of your much beloved Margo. We offer our prayers, support, and ask God's grace envelop you at this difficult passage through the valley of the shadow. Not having Margo with us each day will surely take a good amount of time to process, but with mercy and care, we will find our way ahead as she would embolden us to do. In the interim, I hope you can find comfort in the concept that though she is gone from us here, we are not gone from her. She is with you--intrinsically--and that connection is immortal, knowing no end.

Raymond Rossiter wrote something once... I hope it helps:

~ Life is eternal and love is immortal; and death is only a horizon.
And a horizon is nothing but the limit of our sight. ~

Blessings of comfort to you and yours, and to Margo, till we meet again.

Much Love,
Steven and Lisa Johnson

Darling, you are the love of my life. We ran through the tape together in your race. We win the prize in keeping our commitment to God and to one another. You will always be my muse and my inspiration. Till we see each other again I will look for you in my dreams. -Dennis
