MARINA – Mary died after a valiant battle with cancer. Born at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento to Robert L. and Mary M. Jett, she grew up in Marina and graduated from Notre Dame High School and Fresno State University. She pursued a career in business, working for Brunswick in Chicago and, for the last ten years, for the City of Marina, where she was honored by the City Council for her many achievements.
Mary had many interests besides spending time with family and friends and her godson, Matthew. She loved baseball, especially the Oakland A's. An avid reader, Mary also enjoyed movies, trips to the museums and galleries in S.F., horses and more. A great travel companion, she was always ready for an adventure. Mary spent many hours volunteering for local non-profits including Meals on Wheels, Rio Grill's Resolution Run and the International Air Show.
The youngest of eight children, Mary is survived by her mother, Mary M.; her sisters, Teresa and Suzanne and her brothers, Robert, John, Patrick, William and Michael.
In lieu of flowers, the Jett family suggests donations to honor Mary be made to the "Women Who Care" fund at Meals on Wheels, 700 Jewel Ave, Pacific Grove, CA 92950.
