Robert Wagner
~ 2013 ~

CARMEL, CA – Robert Wagner, kind of heart, dry of wit, and the most dapper dresser (ever!), passed on May 31, 2013. He was steadfast in his desire to help friends of Bill W., giving his time and heart to those in need. He cared deeply about his community. Bob was very much his own man: independent, proud, yet profoundly emotional and moved by the simplest things. He loved the sea, a good (or bad) Clint Eastwood film, Michael Connelly detective stories, and dancing. Oh, could Bob dance! "Boogie", as he liked to say. He connected with the earth, digging in the dirt and planting beautiful things, proudly caring for what he grew. His garden, especially his roses, was something to behold. A veteran of the Korean War, it is largely from this experience, that Bob could so deeply feel the pain of others, and respond to their needs. We will remember and celebrate how he lived and loved. His legacy is carried by the many lives he touched, and he will be greatly missed.
