Rollin Pickford left a legacy of love and creative inspiration to his family, friends, and community. Born in 1912, he found his muse as a painter of California's San Joaquin Valley and Central Coast. Author William Saroyan once told Rollin: "The Monterey Peninsula is just an extension of the San Joaquin Valley for you because you understand them in the same way."
Rollin adored the Monterey area and called Pacific Grove, where he loved painting and walking, his
"spiritual home." Above all, Rollin loved his family.
His loss is deeply felt by the surviving members: his wife, Glenna; his sister, Patricia; his son, Jeffrey; Jeffrey's wife, Stella; his son, Loren; Loren's wife, Sheila; his son, Joel; his daughter, Melissa; Melissa's husband, John; his five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Rollin's family wishes to thank everyone who supported his work over the years. Rollin's paintings were exhibited several times at the Pacific Grove Art Center and we ask that donations in his name be made to help sustain this fine organization. Donations may be made to PGAC Associates, 568 Lighthouse Avenue, Pacific Grove, CA 93950.
At our family's request, there will be no services. The Fresno Art Museum will mount a memorial exhibition of Rollin Pickford's watercolors.

Rollin and I had a lot of fun in Life Drawing at PGAC during many wonderful evenings. He was always full of life and was so kind and sincere and encouraged everyone. He will remain an inspiration to all of us. Julie Brown Smith
