DENVER, CO - Viola May Dean Pickel Pruyne passed peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the age of 95. Viola was born to Selvy and Naomi (Ayers) Pickel on June 27, 1917 in Enid, Oklahoma.
A dedicated servant of God, Viola was active in her church, choir and AWANAs. Viola enjoyed quilting, putting jigsaw puzzles together and challenging herself with sudoku. She worked as a surgical nurse until her retirement.
Viola is survived by her daughters, Penny Kailer of King City, CA and Nancy Naugler of Denver; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church of Marina, 106 Seaside Ave., CA 93933 on May 18, 2013 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made in Viola's name to AWANAs Group, Calvary Baptist Church of Marina.
