GREENFIELD, CA - Judith Lynn Norum, 69, died at home August 2, 2009 from complications due to diabetes. Judy was born in Lewiston, ID, October 26, 1939 to Catherine and Alex Ross, the third of five
children. Soon after Judy's birth the family moved to California to establish a ranch in the Lincoln area. Judy grew up tending animals and working in the pear and plum orchards. She was active in 4-H, Job's Daughters and graduated from Lincoln High School. She lived most of her adult life in and around Sacramento, the Bay Area, Grass Valley and lately, Greenfield.
She will be missed by her family and friends. Her kindness, warm generosity and happy nature were hallmarks of her personality.
Judy is survived by her husband, Dr. Vance Norum, M.D; her two children, Debra (Thomas) Nelson of Battle Ground, WA, Thomas (Kirsty) Oldham of Ione, CA; three grandchildren, Megan Oldham, Ingrid Nelson, Cody Oldham; stepchildren, Danielle (Jim) Madigan, Alta Loma, CA, Cheri (Vartan) Derohanian of Northridge, CA, Brent (Donna) Norum of
Claremont, CA, and their children; her siblings, Carol Ann (John) Calvert of Grass Valley, CA, Saunie and the late Bob Macgregor of Fall River Mills, CA, Jim (Dee) Ross of Roseville, CA, John and the late Joan Ross of Spring Creek, NV and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial gathering was held on August 15, 2009 for family and friends. Judy's body has been cremated and her ashes will be scattered in the same beautiful place as her parents.
