James Thomas Shatusky 1935 ~ 2012 Monterey - James Thomas Shatusky, 77, passed away on November 28, 2012 due to complications from lung cancer. He is survived by his two sons, Jamie John Shatusky and Larry Kim Shatusky; daughter-in-law, Rosie Shatusky; his two grandchildren, Coen Ty Shatusky and Devan James Shatusky; beloved family best friend, Nam Ye Shrum: and his dog, Gizmo. James grew up in Menominee, Michigan, the youngest of seven siblings born to Harry Shatusky and Mildred Remington on July 31, 1935. He was brother to Mary Herbst (deceased), Harry Shatusky (deceased), Ione Grun (deceased), Robert Shatusky (deceased), Mike Shatusky, Richard Shatusky, and Annie Michaels. He joined the United States Army at a young age and retired after 23 years of faithful service. While stationed in Korea he met the woman who would become the love of his life, Yong Suk Shatusky. She passed away in February 2010; now they are peacefully together again in Heaven. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and westerns. Services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Saint Jude's Parish in Marina. Burial will be held at Mission Memorial Park in Seaside following the service.
