SEASIDE, CA - Frances "Frannie" Marie Neuman, 85, of Seaside, CA, died peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 17, 2017 in Antioch, CA.
Frances lived in Seaside and in Monterey County for her entire life. Frances was born in Monterey on July 3, 1927. She graduated from Monterey High School in 1946. She was married to Robert Neuman (deceased) for 57 years. She enjoyed singing, dancing and arranging bus trips to Reno and the horse races.
Frances was employed by Pacific Telephone for 36 years starting out as a long distance operator and retiring as a closing office coordinator. Upon retiring from Pacific Bell, Frances volunteered at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula for 20 years, doing a variety of jobs including running the snack bar and the blood center.
Frances was an active member in the community. She was a member of the San Carlos Cathedral Parish, the Moose Club, Italian Catholic Federation, Fiesta Italia, Monterey Ladies Bocce Club, the Civic Club and the Class of 1946 Reunion Committee.
She is survived by her daughter, Claudia Garcia-Johns; son-in law, Mike Johns; grandchildren, A.J. of Monterey, Joey of Antioch, Angela of Oakley, Kristina of Oakland, Matthew and Tim of Sacramento; great grandchildren, Alexis, Nicole, Ava Lee, Ella True, Gabriella, Jacob; and many nieces and nephews in Monterey County and Cleveland, Ohio.
The Funeral will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 9:30am at San Carlos Cathedral, Monterey, CA.
