SEASIDE – Dallas Clayton passed away at his residence May 2, 2013 at age 85. He was born April 11, 1928, in Echo, Louisiana.
A veteran of World War II, he moved to Seaside in 1956. Dallas worked for Milton Cleaners for 30 years. He was an avid member of St. Francis Xavier parish and a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus, # 5261. Dallas also was a community volunteer for the sick and needy for 20 years. Dallas loved gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 59 years, Inez; a daughter, Linda Clayton-Golden and a son, Glenn Clayton. He was preceded in death by a son, Floyd Patrick Clayton. Dallas is also survived by two granddaughters, Tiffany Golden of Los Angeles and Tamica Clayton of Seaside; and a great granddaughter, Tiana Bell of Seaside; two sisters, Lena Alexander of Texas and Willa Anderson of Moreno Valley; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to pay their respects Friday, May 10, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00pm, with the Rosary recited at 7:00pm, both at Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena St., Seaside. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1475 LaSalle Avenue, Seaside. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mission Memorial Park.
