Frances M. Rudoni

1917 - 2013 | Obituary Condolences
PACIFIC ?GROVE – Fran Rudoni died of natural causes in her Pacific Grove home. Fran was born in South Bend, Indiana. She lived in Buchanan, Michigan until moving to Pacific Grove in 1946. Her family moved from their mid-west home to California, and Fran and Ed weren't going to be left behind. So they packed up their two boys and moved across the country to be close to their family.
In Michigan, Fran was an executive secretary with Tyler Fixture Corp. in Niles, and she also worked at Clark Equipment Corp. Credit Union in Buchanan. Fran's favorite position was her 19 years spent at Monterey Unified School District as an elementary school secretary. She loved being with children and was a respected member of the school system. She received a Lifetime Award from the Parent Teachers Association.
She was active in many social activities and was a tireless volunteer for many organizations. Fran loved people and parties. She was always smiling and had a great sense of humor. Her laughter was contagious. She was loved by many and she reciprocated that love. Her home was always open to friends and family.
She belonged to Children's Home Society, AT&T Golf (Bing Crosby), Carmel Foundation, Cancer and Discovery Shop, Peninsula Dance Club, Los Palmas Country Club, Meals on Wheels, Lighthouse Keepers and Pebble Beach and Tennis Club.
Her husband, Ed preceded her in death after 52 years of marriage. She leaves her two sons, Jeff (Sue) of Pacific Grove and Scott (Ginger) of Monterey; and three grandchildren, Jon (Rachel) of England, James (Caroline) of England, Scott (Yadira) of Pacific Grove, and Michael of Los Angeles; and seven great grandchildren.
People will always remember her love of dancing, music, and family. Her family always came first and we will dearly miss her, especially at Sunday meals and holidays. She loved getting together with family and friends. The Rudoni family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Sandy Kalinowski for their compassionate care of Fran at the end of her life and to her loving caregivers, Zoe Ognyanovich and Johanna Martinez.
If you would like to make a donation in Fran's name please make it to Heartland Hospice or Meals on Wheels.
There will be a Celebration of Life, with food and dancing, at the Monterey Elk's Lodge on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 2:00-6:00pm.
