Glenna Chandler

Chandler, Glenna L., Lt. Col (Ret) USAF NC, 89, died 30 Apr 2014, a resident of Montgomery, AL. Glenna was born in Painter, VA, Oct. 28, 1924. Joined the Army Nurse Corp in 1947 transferring to the newly formed AF Nurse Corp in 1949 and continued on active duty with overseas assignments in Germany, Alaska and Vietnam until retirement in November 1970. Glenna was an active member of the Society of AF Nurses and active member of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by her parents Luceal and Grover C. Chandler, sisters, Gladys Watson, Lucille Snyder, brothers, Grover and Vernon Chandler. She is survived by the wives of Grover (Jeanette) and Vernon (Virginia), both of Virginia; cousin, Robert (Patsy) Gladden of Painter, VA, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved friend and traveling companion of over 50 years, Kathleen Wagner. There will be a memorial service at the Frazer Mem. UMC Chapel on 9 May 2014 at 11 AM with visitation of family starting at 10 AM. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
