Thomas W. Anderson of Huntsville, formerly of Montgomery, AL passed away on February 18, 2014 at the age of 95. He was born in Bluefield, VA to Reece and Flora Anderson. He worked for the N & W Railroad as did his father and grandfather. He joined the U. S. Army
Air Corps in World War II
and served in Alaska as an airplane mechanic. He was a resident of Mobile, AL for 15 years and later moved to Huntsville, AL where he lived for 15 years. He transferred with IBM to Raleigh, NC where he lived for 30 years.
He is survived by three daughters: Trudi (Wayne) McCown of Mesa, AL, Jeannie Anderson of Montgomery, AL and Kathy (Axel) Hein of Madison, AL; son Thomas L. (Valerie) Anderson of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren: Joe (Kim) Reich of Leesburg,VA, Nicholas Grainger of Nashville, TN, Heather Byrne of Amelia, OH, Patrick Byrne of Montgomery, AL, Todd Anderson of Huntsville, AL, Christopher Anderson of Birmingham, AL; stepson Tyson Hein of Madison, AL, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Maple Hill Cemetery in his beloved hometown of Bluefield, VA.
