A much loved grandfather and WWII
veteran, William Parker Gregory, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the age of 96, just one day shy of his 97th birthday. He was born in East Tallassee, Alabama to the late William and Ruby Gregory. William spent his career as an electrician and in lived in many different states across the US; however Montgomery was always home.
William was a Provost Guard of the Alcazar Shrine in Montgomery, Alabama as well as a member of the Scottish Rite. He was very proud and honored to be part of these organizations. A Shriner is defined as "men who enjoy life" and nothing could describe him any better. He loved to travel, gardening, deep-sea fishing, the Atlanta Braves and being with others. Pop Pop was such a wonderful, caring, fun-loving individual and an absolute joy to be around. He was an amazing Dad and the best grandfather anyone could ever ask for.
William (Uncle Bill) is survived by his two grandchildren, Charles Allen Bramble of Tobaccoville, NC and Tina Kennedy of Mickleton, NJ; his great-granddaughter, Macy Kennedy and other family and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Pitts Gregory and his only daughter, Patsy Sue Bramble-Wiegman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Leak Memory Chapel, 945 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, AL on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM, where visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Greenwood Serenity Memorial Gardens.
