WILLIAM LOCKLAR

Locklar, William Ryan, 26, a resident of Wetumpka, Alabama, passed away on December 15, 2012. He was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on June 28, 1986. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patricia Borowski-Baskett. He is survived by his parents, Ricky Gene and Linda Borowski Locklar; a brother, Ian Scott Locklar of Wetumpka, Alabama; grandparents, Ceciel and Faye Locklar of Union Springs, Alabama, and Rick and Gene Borowski of Alexander City, Alabama, Dale Basket of Montgomery; and great-grandmother, Mary Jane Badowski of Williamsburg, Virginia, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ryan was a 2004 graduate of Montgomery Academy where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He was an active member of the Montgomery Academy Ambassadors, The Advanced Math Team, The Latin Club, The Latin Honor Society, HEART (Student Community Service Organization), The Drama Club, The Track Team and the Montgomery Academy Football Team. He received the following honors while at Montgomery Academy: National Merit Finalist 2004, National Latin Exam Summa Cum Laude 2001 and 2002, Maxima Cum Laude 2003, Alabama State Latin Convention First Place 2003, St. James School Math Tournament Fourth Place 2003, The College Board AP Scholar Award 2003, CCC All Conference Varsity Football Second Team 2002, and All-Metro Football Team Class 3A-4A First Team 2002. He was selected as a People to People Student Ambassador to New Zealand and Australia in 2002. Ryan loved the performing arts and performed in a number of plays at Montgomery Academy as well as The Wetumpka Depot Players. He was a member of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church.

He loved people, especially the little ones. He loved all of God's creatures. He loved nature, football, music, performing in theater and reading. He loved working with his Paw Paw at the farm, boating with his Grandpa on Lake Martin, and just spending time with his family. He loved family reunions and making silly jokes. He loved speaking Latin with his brother and discussing Shakespeare with his mother. But most of all, he loved his family.

Pallbearers will be Will Millar, Anthony McCall, Sr., John Gallups, Mike Gantt, Brian Schroll, and Billy Raley. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 18th, at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home, with A Celebration of Life Service being held on Wednesday, December 19th at 2:00 PM, at Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, and graveside services following at Alabama Heritage Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be made in honor of Ryan to The Wetumpka Depot Players and the Montgomery County Humane Society. Condolences may be offered at www.alabamaheritagefh.com.
