Eugene Foshee Obituary

Foshee, Sr., Eugene Crum

Eugene Crum Foshee, Sr., passed away at home on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

He was born December 13, 1937 in Red Level, Alabama to Wheeler G. Foshee, Sr. and Ruby Faye Foshee. He is survived by his loving wife, Cherie Estes Foshee; a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Foshee Wicks (Hugh); two sons, Eugene Crum Foshee, Jr. (Traci) and John Brannon Foshee; a step-daughter, Katie Colquett Henley (Larry); a brother, Wheeler G. Foshee, Jr.; two sisters, June Foshee Russell (Bobby) and Shirley Malone Foshee Pitts (Bill). He is also survived by 7 loving grandchildren: Jo Elizabeth Wicks, Anna Victoria Wicks, Mary Catherine Foshee, Graci Morgan Foshee, Eugene Crum Foshee, III (Trey), Rylee Kate Henley, and Avery Anne Henley.

Crum served in the Alabama Legislature for 35 years. He was a dedicated senator who worked hard to represent his constituents. After retiring from the Senate, he worked as a consultant in government relations.

Crum never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face, and was polite, kind, and caring of everyone. He will be missed by his family and his many personal, business, and governmental friends.

The family wishes to thank all of the care providers for their dedicated service to Crum during his illness. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Michael Karst, to Dr. Harry Barnes, and to all of the staff at Montgomery Cancer Center; to caregivers Jennifer, Nicole, Brandy, Liz, and Melissa; and also a very special thanks to Pilots for Christ.

Pallbearers are Tommy Coleman, Alva Lambert, Tony Moore, Frank Brown, Hugh Wicks, and Larry Henley. Honorary Pallbearers are John Teague, Joe Fine, John Smith, Mac Roberts, Jerry Spencer, Johnny Moore, Arch Lee, Milton McGregor, Tom Coker, Leah Taylor, Whit Armstrong, Jere Beasley, Jim Folsom, Fred Horn, Charles Price, Seth Hammett, U.W. So sorry for your loss, Mr Foshee was a pleasure to be around, he always was very kind to my family and my grandfather Manuel Merritt always said He was the Salt of the Earth! Which means he never forgot his upbringing and always looked out for the everyday people..He was a friend to many

Crum Foshee was a hero to many folks around Covington County. My mom and dad worked for his farming business for years and he was always a good man and a good friend to them. I remember, going door to door, passing out flyers as a young man, when he was running for State Representative his first time. He left a legacy behind and will be missed by a lot of good friends.
