We will miss Mrs. Spears at our 50th reunion, class of 1963 Rippowam HS. She was not only a gifted teacher, mentor and mother to all of us, but a close friend, then and now. God bless you, Mrs. Spears.

Mrs. Spears was one of the most careing and dedicated educaters I had ever been exposed to. She was instrumental in helping me overcome those math obsticles I had encountered during my early years at Stamford High School. May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in Peace. Amen.

A true pioneer in the struggle for equal educational opportunities for people of color. A wonderful role model and beacon while a resident of Stamford and wherever she lived. Students today are benefiting from the battles she fought and don't even know it. Sincerest sympathies to her family, friends, and others who know the real work she performed.
