Mangum, Allie Frances "Sancie" Sewell of Tallassee, (formerly of Tuskegee) passed away Friday, November 15, 2013, at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her parents Homer Steve Sewell and Lena Allie "LA" Sewell Sanford, her step-father C. Edd Sanford, and her step-brother Edward Nolen Sanford. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Stanley Mangum; her daughter Ladene Mangum of Auburn; her son Stan Mangum of Williamston, NC; one grandson Jacob Earl Mangum also of Williamston, NC; one sister Harriett Sanford (Duane) Lewis of Montevallo, AL; one niece Suzannah (Jason) Campbell of Helena, AL; one nephew Nolen (Michelle) Sanford of Lindale, GA; and one cousin Faye (Tom) Chancey of Virginia. Sancie was born in Macon County, AL, in 1935. She graduated from Tuskegee High School in 1952. She graduated from Massey Draughon Business School the following year. She and Stanley married in 1954. Sancie worked for the City of Tuskegee for 22 years and for the Macon County Racing Commission for 8 years. She was an Atlanta Braves fan as well as an avid Auburn fan. She and Stanley have been attending Auburn home games, away games and bowl games for 42 years. They have attended 423 Auburn games. They didn't miss a home game until 2008. They attended every game from 1976 until 2008 with the exception of the Syracuse, NY, game in 2001, the Saturday after 9/11. They were featured in the FANatic Section of the Opelika/Auburn News, September, 2000. The family would like to thank all the friends and neighbors who visited and provided food and support during Sancie's illness. Memorial may be made to Williams Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 14, Notasulga, AL 36866, or the church/charity of your choice. Funeral services for Sancie will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Williams Chapel United Methodist Church Tabernacle in Little Texas, AL, 1437 Co. Rd. 69, Tuskegee. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Little Texas Cemetery. The pallbearers are Bill Carlisle, Jason Campbell, David Funderburk, Lamar Ledbetter, Thomas McFarland and Phil Story.
