Ms. Della Mae Hurst of Montgomery, Alabama, 85, passed away on July 11, 2012. Funeral services will be held at Bell Funeral Home Chapel, in Hayneville, Alabama on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Aaron D. McCall officiating. Burial will be in the Hayneville Cemetery. Ms. Hurst was born on December 7, 1926, to the late Albert Hurst, Sr. and the late Crethy McCall Hurst in Hayneville, Alabama. She was raised in Hayneville, Alabama, along with four brothers: Reddick Hurst, Raife Hurst, Ed Hurst, and Albert Hurst, Jr. who all preceded her in death.

Ms. Hurst worked for many years as a cook with the Montgomery County Public Schools system and was working as a dedicated-caregiver until her untimely death. She was a loving, caring, and giving person who loved flowers.
Survivors include her two daughters, Emma Jean Hayes (Willie) of Calhoun, Alabama and Shirley Mitchum (Isaac-deceased) of Hayneville, Alabama; a son, Dwight Allen Hurst of Montgomery, Alabama; five grandchildren, Alfreda Hayes Arrington of Calhoun, Alabama, Daryl Mitchum (Alfredia) of Mosses, Alabama, Stanley Mitchum (Joann) of LaMesa California, Undre Hayes of Calhoun, Alabama, and Jarvis Mitchum of Hayneville, Alabama; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; a devoted friend and neighbor Jimmy Dean, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
