 JONES, Dorothy Ann Mullican, age 91, a resident of Wetumpka passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at a local hospital surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richie Halversen and Chaplain Robert Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at Shepherd Cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her husband, W. D. Jones, parents, Clessie Mekissic Mullican & Edward Jackson Mullican, daughter, Maryann Jones McConnell, sister, Christine Robinson, and 4 brothers, Billy Mullican, Elijah Mullican, Joe Mullican, and Pogy Mullican. She is survived by her sons, Roger Dale (June) Jones, Paul Jones, and Billy Joe (Jenny) Jones all of Wetumpka, AL; daughter-in-law, Donna Johansen, sisters-in-law, Ruth Mullican and Donna Mullican both of Dadeville, AL; grandchildren, Myra Childress, David Jones, Billy Joe Jones, Jr. all of Wetumpka, AL; Roger Dale Jones, Jr. and Angie Myers both of Montgomery, AL; great-grandchildren, Dakota Jones, Brandon Childress, Lilyan Jones, Sterling Jones, Tori Jones, Edward Montgomery, Daniel Childress, Scott Childress Jr., Valerie Childress Long & Matt Myers, 7 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other friends. Ms. Jones was employed by Little Sam's Café for 27 years. She was a lady that always loved the social life and enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger. After retirement her golden years was filled by spending time with her family and holding her grandchildren close to her heart by her apron strings. She spent lots of time attending The Wetumpka Senior Center & Elmore County Community Service Center with her family & friends. Active Pallbearers will be Billy Jones, Jr., David Jones, Brandon Childress, Daniel Childress, Scott Childress, Jr. and Tim Glassford. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Montgomery and Edward Montgomery. Special thanks to Advantage Hospice & Staff, Dr. Spencer Coleman, & all the loving staff at Elmore Community Hospital. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home. Online Guest Book available at www.gassettfuneralhome.net
