Watkins, Mrs. Ethel L. Curry, a resident of Montgomery, AL departed this life September 5, 2013. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM from The Lilly Baptist Church. Interment will follow Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Mrs. Watkins will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Rev. A.W. Watkins and one son, Cedric Lamar Watkins. She leaves behind with many precious memories nine children; Earnest Watkins, Marie Watkins Motley, Johnnie Watkins, Larry Watkins, Sylvester Watkins, Dwight (Marilyn) Watkins, Jacqueline (Greg) Watkins-Crawford, Marshell (Alvin) Watkins-Stokes, Yolanda (Eric) Watkins-Bailey and Johnnie Terrell Watkins. Mrs. Watkins had 30 grandchildren whom she loved dearly and 26 adorable great-grandchildren. She has four surviving siblings; Darlene Johnson, Dallas, TX, Wilma Curry-Reid, Montgomery, AL, James Curry, Birmingham, AL, and Willie B. White Detroit, MI, one Aunt, Fronnie Cargill, and one sister-in-law, Barbara Curry. Six out of the 11 siblings preceded Mrs. Watkins in death; Henry Curry, Mary Rogers, Roosevelt Curry, Sara Davis, John Curry and Emma Edwards. She also had one son-n-law (Samuel Motley) and one daughter-in-law (Maria Kendricks Watkins) that preceded her in death. The family would also like to acknowledge Mrs. Isrealene Chambers as a longtime devoted friend who showed unwavering love for her and Mrs. Vinson as a neighbor who was caring, concerned and a Prayer Warrior.
