Porterfield, Deacon Henry George a resident of Montgomery, AL departed this life Wednesday, February 26, 2013. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM from New Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Jiles Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Montgomery Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Porterfield will lie repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Porterfield, Sr.; his sister, Fannie Cannon, and his brother, Arthur James Porterfield. His memories will live on through his wife, Betty Jean Porterfield; his daughter, LaRhonda D. Porterfield; his son, Marcus D. Porterfield; granddaughter, Je'Kell D. Porterfield; his mother, Lillie M. Porterfield; a sister, Marietta Branch; three brothers, Robert (Deborah) Porterfield, Jr., Thomas (Margaret) Porterfield, and Anthony Porterfield, all of Montgomery, AL; devoted aunt and uncle, Woodrow and Alice Wilson; two great aunts, Annie Murray Lawson and Ethel Hamilton; a great uncle, Jerry Lawson, Sr.; an aunt, Carrie (Stanley) Smith; two uncles, Arthur (Audrey) Hamilton and Henry (Jerry Ann) Hamilton, all from Milwaukee, WI; mother-in-law, Amanda W. Cooley; Godmother, Nellena Lee; three brothers-in-law, Johnny L. Alexander, Johnnie B. Summerville and Willie Shanks; seven sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Henry, Carolyn (Raymond) Summerville, Erma (Fred) Myricks, Connie (Marshall) Bradford, Sharon Alexander, Carol Hill Alexander, all of Birmingham, AL and Dorothy Oshilim, Dallas, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including devoted friends, Amos Brown, Vicky Holloway, Cameron Tillman, Dorothy Brundigem Douglas Branch and extended family from Richmond, VA.
