James Benton Hulett, 71, of Montgomery, AL died on June 23, 2013 at home after an extended illness. He has lived in Montgomery since 1974. He graduated from high school in Honey Grove, Texas and completed a Master s Degree in Personnel and Guidance from what is currently Texas A&M University. Jim was an educator in Texas for several years before moving to Montgomery. He began working for the Alabama Hospital Association in 1974, became President of the Southeastern Hospital Association in 1986 and worked for the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners from 1990 until his retirement in 2011.
He is survived by his wife Cecily Orr Hulett; daughters Ashley Fleming Baine and her husband Brown of Memphis, TN and Cecily Newell Fleming of Miami, FL; two sisters Mary Jim Slagle of Pantego, TX and Charlotte Holland of Sulphur Springs, TX; grandchildren Burch Baine and Baker Baine and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with a memorial service following at 2:00 PM.
