Karen Neal Knight was sent home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2012. She was the daughter of Minnie and James Neal of Hazard, KY. Karen grew up in Dayton, OH, and was one of seven children. She is preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, James and Darryl Neal. Karen had many aspirations which led her to make great accomplishments. Karen graduated from Howard University in Secondary Education, but later returned to school to receive her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University. She was a successful law partner of the firm Carter & Knight for more than 30 years. Over the past 10 years, she was a municipal court judge for the City of Montgomery, AL. She was a perfectionist and she took great pride in her work. Although she had a very rewarding career, she always put family first. Karen Knight, wife of John Knight, Jr., spent 30 years together learning to love. She is survived by two sons, Roosevelt Gregory Daniel (Christa) of Florence, SC, and Robert Julian Daniel (Kimberly) of Atlanta, GA; two step children, Tammy Fleming (Anthony) of Montgomery, AL, and Tehrik Knight (Reasor) of Montgomery, AL; five grandchildren, Barry, Haley, Samantha, Taylor, and Anthony Jr.; sister and brothers, Pamela Diggs (Gearl) of Columbus, OH, Larry Neal of Fort Wayne, IN, and Michael Neal of Tucson, AR; nieces and nephews, Karen, Pam, Karmen, Ashley, John Patrick, William, Jr., Tiger, Danny, and Nelson; devoted sister-in-law, Patricia Gary (William) of Manassa, VA; special friends, Carlotta Rozzi, Paula Quick-Hall, Tommie Hardwick, Bobbie Parker, and of course her law partner, Billy L. Carter. Relatives and close friends are invited to attend the memorial service at Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, 1412 Adams Avenue, Montgomery, AL, Thursday, March 22,2012, 1:00 p.m.
