Roy Lanier Pritchett, Jr., 84, long-time resident of Montgomery, AL passed away on March 8, 2014 at the Colonel Robert L. Howard Veteran's Home located in Pell City, Alabama.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mamie Johnson Pritchett; son, Robert F. Gross, Jr. (Pam); daughters, Melody Pritchett Collier (Tim), Kristi Pritchett Kelley (George); 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Betty Jean Williamson (Leroy), Katherine Mims (E.C.) Juanita Brown (Jerry) and Barbara Squire (Lee). He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Kathleen Pritchett and brother, Gainor Pritchett (Margaret).
Mr. Pritchett was born April 3, 1929 in Cochran, Georgia. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II, The Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. Mr. Pritchett was a long-time member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and for twenty years an active member of Carpenters For Christ.
Services, officiated by Reverends Rick Marshall and Larry Armstrong, will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Leak Memory Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Bobby Gross, Chuck Gross, Denny Leftwich, Jimmy Johnson, Mike Sherman and Joe Brinkley. Honorary Pallbearers are Carpenters For Christ and Veterans of Colonel Robert L. Howard Veteran's Home. On line condolences may be made at www.LEAK-MC.com.
