Trudie Vonceil Clower Burkett died in her home on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the age of 90. She was born in Andalusia, AL on January 14, 1924. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Franklin and Mavin Park Clower, her sister, Olene Zacher and her husband of 64 years, Morris A. Burkett. She is survived by three children, John M. Burkett and wife Melanie of Greenville, TX, Betty Meyer and husband Ramon of Terre Haute, IN and Robert F. Burkett of Montgomery; two grandchildren, Allison Rogers and husband Todd of Greenville, SC and Darren Meyer and wife Kathryn of Columbus, OH and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burkett graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in business education. Though primarily a homemaker, she was office manager for her husband's law firm for several years. She was a long-time, dedicated member of Morningview Baptist Church, having taught adult Sunday school classes for fifty years. Visitation will be at Leak Memory Chapel on Friday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. and a funeral service will follow at 11:00.
