McLaurine, George Milton, Jr., 83, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014. He was a native of Union Springs and a longtime resident of Huntsville, Alabama. A graveside service was held Friday, July 25, 2014, 1:00 p.m., from Oak Hill Cemetery in Union Springs, AL with Gray Funeral Home directing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Cochran McLaurine. George is survived by his children: Gayle Luke of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Mike McLaurine (Mitzi) of Montgomery, Alabama, Bill McLaurine (Julie) of Jacksonville, Florida and his grandchildren: Lauren Luke, Melissa Luke, Dr. Nicole Shaw (C.J.), Chelsea McLaurine, Will McLaurine and Alex McLaurine. He is also survived by his brother: Fred McLaurine (Judy) of Huntsville Alabama.
A Union Springs, Alabama native and long-time Huntsville resident, George lived in and visited many places around the world including Alaska, Hawaii, Japan, Korea, and Saudi Arabia, through his service in the U. S. Air Force and his work with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.
George graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Civil Engineering and loved exchanging a quick War Eagle with fellow Tigers. He had great joy in his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with his sweet dogs.
There was a visitation at Gray Funeral Home from 12 noon until service time.
