W.H. "Buck" Stewart, Jr., age 84, a native of Tuscaloosa, AL, passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 in Alabaster, AL. He retired as Vice President of Sales from Alagasco after 21 years of service, including work with the company in Huntsville, AL.

"Buck" graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1947 before earning his undergraduate degree at Auburn University, where he later served two years as a Business instructor. A U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, he was State President of the Alabama Elks Association from 1968-1969, and was inducted into the Alabama Building Industry (ABI) Hall of Fame in 1988.
"Buck" was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Hugh Stewart, Sr. and Lucille Wilson Stewart; and two brothers, Edward E. Stewart and Eugene Stewart.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Hamilton (David) and Carolyn Reames; one grandson, Christopher Cearley; one great-grandchild, Cadence Cearley; cousin, Billie W. Clements; and special friend and neighbor, E.D. Heflin.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, followed by the graveside service at 11 a.m. at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
