Karl E. Westhauser, a resident of Montgomery, died Friday after a 14 year battle with recurring tumors. He was 53. A native of New York City, he graduated from Cornell University, and earned a Ph.D. in History from Brown University. From 1994 until his retirement for disability in 2013, Dr. Westhauser taught World History at Alabama State University. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Westhauser, of Franklin Square, New York, and his sister, Lise Westhauser, of Sandersville, Georgia. Memorial at Leak Memory Chapel and burial at Greenwood Cemetery will be private.
