Deacon Henry L. Curry, Sr., a resident of Pike Road, AL passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Ross-Clayton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Ramer, AL with Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, Inc., directing. He was born March 7, 1926 in Ramer, Alabama to the late Lee and Emma Curry. He was a member and served as Deacon with Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Ramer, Alabama for many years. He is preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Lee Rogers, Emma Edwards, Sarah Davis, Mary Williams; two brothers John Robert Curry and Roosevelt Curry. He was employed as a driver with a local sand and gravel delivery company for many years before starting his own business, (Curry Sand & Gravel). He was married to the late Katrice Johnson Curry. To this union was born Arthur(Glenda) Curry, Tulsa, Ok; Leon(Mary) Curry, Tulsa, Ok; Roosevelt(Delois) Curry, Montgomery, AL; Henry, Jr.(Romona) Curry, Glen Burnie, MD; Emma Surles (Thomas, deceased), Montgomery, AL; Bessie (Leslie) Harris; Vanessa Dale Burns (deceased)', Bernice Curry, Montgomery, AL; Farris(Deborah) Curry, Silver Springs, MD; Stanley Curry, Tulsa, OK; Janette Dianne (Pastor Leonard) Slater, Montgomery, AL. He is also survived by daughter Aretha Tucker, Bedford Heights, OH and son James (Valory) Richardson, Montgomery, AL. He leaves to cherish his memories one brother, Willie James Curry, Sr., Birmingham, AL; four sisters, Ethel Watkins, Montgomery, AL; Darlena Johnson, Dallas, TX; Wilma Curry, Montgomery, AL; Willie B. White, Detroit, Ml; two aunts Annie Ruth Cargill and Fronnie Cargill both of Montgomery, AL. He is survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and a caring and devoted friend, Sarah McCullough.
