Harold W. "Ben" Bolton, 67, a resident of Deatsville, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Prattville Memorial with Michael D. Wise officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens, with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing. Mr. Bolton was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Mr. Bolton was born on October 1, 1945 to Hillery J. Bolton and Emily Pate Bolton in Birmingham, AL. Ben attended the Jemison, AL school system and graduated in May of 1963. He worked for Vulcan Materials in Calera, AL until he joined the USAF on 10 of September 1963. Ben served in the USAF until 9 September 1975, at which time he began his career in the Federal Civil Service working for the USAF. During his active duty days he traveled to the Philippines, Guam, Korea, and Thailand to fulfill his active duty requirements. While employed at Gunter as a civilian, he traveled to many different locations to complete the jobs he was assigned. Ben left Gunter in July 1999 for Tyndal AFB where he finished his civilian career. Upon retiring from civil service, Ben worked for Northrop Grumman for 10 years retiring on December 30, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother, and one infant sister. Ben leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wonderful wife of 45 plus years, Ana Carrera Bolton; one son, Michael (Kristi) Bolton, Sr.; one daughter, Katherine (Chris) Hargett; one grandson, Michael Bolton, Jr.; one granddaughter, MacKenzie Bolton; one sister, Louise (Thomas) Liveoak; four brothers-in-law, Andres Carrera, Jr., David Carrera, Rene Carrera, and Jose Carrera; three sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Nunez, Maria Louisa Smith and Lydia Smith; several nieces and nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends at Prattville Memorial on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
