The life of Luther D. Martin, known as "Luke", began on June 12, 1968 in Montgomery, AL to Mildred Martin and the late Cornelius Martin Sr. He leaves to cherish his memories, two lovely daughters, Kiera and Sha'Diamond Wheat, Montgomery, AL; A loving and supportive mother, Mildred Martin, Montgomery, AL; three brothers, Rev. Cornelius (Viola) Martin Jr., Jeffery Martin, and Cedric Martin; One sister, Angela (Dennis) Martin-Price, all of Montgomery, AL; A devoted and loving companion, Minnie Wheat, Montgomery, AL; A special cousin, Cynthia (Eddie) Jarrett, Montgomery, AL; One sister-in-law, Judie (Earl) Gholston, Montgomery, AL; Two aunts, Evangelist Essie Moss, Detroit, MI and Betty Jewel Thomas, Buffalo, NY; Four uncles, Willie Martin Sr., Perry Martin Sr., and Jimmy (Neicey) Thomas, all of Montgomery, AL; Jesse (Ada) Steiner Cleveland, Ohio, Four nieces, Tomeeka, Theodora, Tiffany and Anteidra Martin; Two great-nieces, Xylia Martin and Chloe Boykin, One nephew, Cortney Martin, all of Montgomery, AL, and a host of cousins and friends that will greatly miss him. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 4242 Birmingham Highway, Montgomery, AL with Rev. Cornelius Martin Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Madison Cemetery with the staff of Ross and Clayton Funeral Home Directing. His remains will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral services.
