As a military wife and homemaker Mary was always able to create a loving home for her husband and children in all of the ten different station locations before returning to her hometown of Montgomery. She spent her life opening her home to family and friends and preparing family feasts. Her loving generous spirit had a way of making everyone feel loved, welcome and special. She was a caregiver at heart attending to family and friends through births and illnesses. She maintained deep abiding friendships with childhood friends no matter the distance between them.
She was a member of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, where she served in the flower delivery ministry. She watched the services faithfully on television when she was no longer able to attend.
Mary served as the matriarch to her immediate and extended family, adored by everyone. She was a loving mother and proud grandmother but her favorite title was Great Grandmother. The only thing she loved more than her loved ones gathered around her dining table was being with her great granddaughters. Nothing made her happier than their hugs and kisses. She took great joy in spoiling them. She always said she could sit and watch them play forever.
Mary was a true example of hospitality and loving others well. This is the legacy she leaves with those who know and love her. Her family has been blessed with many treasured memories and life lessons from her time on earth.
