Funeral services for Donald L. Barker, 64 of Anniston will be 12:00 noon, Friday, May 31, 2013 at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Nelson MaHaffey officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Donald was born in Ft. Monroe, Virginia. He relocated with his family to Anniston. He attended Mechanicsville School and graduated from Anniston High School. He joined the Navy in 1967 where he served as a Radar Technician. He was very proud of his service with the VQ-2 Squadron stationed in Rota, Spain. He received a National Defense Service Medal and Meritorious Unit Commendation.
He worked at Anniston Army Depot following an honorable discharge from the Navy and later joined the Federal Aviation Administration. He retired from the FAA in 2003.
He received his Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology. He was an avid flyer and was working toward earning his certification of multi-engine aircraft.
Mr. Barker is survived by his wife, Deborah Barker of Anniston; sons, Christopher L. Barker and Scott T. Barker (Robin); sister, Nancy Christene Hulett (Red) and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Barker is preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Alice Christene MaHaffey Daniel and father, T. J. Barker; brothers, Jimmy Lamar Barker and James Edgar Barker; grandparents, Edgar Wesley MaHaffey and Lelia Pearl Haynes.
