Jackson, Jr., Wilbur "Jack" a resident of Montgomery, AL departed this life July 24, 2013. Funeral services will be held July 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Ross-Clayton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, AL. Mr. Jackson, an only child was born to the late Wilbur and Emma Jackson on September 29, 1927, in Tuscaloosa, AL. He graduated from Snowhill Institute in Snowhill, AL and later received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Alabama State University. His first employment was as a band director at Carver High School in Dothan, AL. Later he was employed by Montgomery Public School as a band director of Hayneville Road and Cloverdale, Jr. High. He was an accomplished trumpet player, played in the army band, and played in many local jazz bands. He was the recipient of numerous musical awards. Additionally, he was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He accepted Christ and was baptized at New Town Church of Christ where he became an active member. He leaves to cherish his memory three children, two daughters, Daphne Watson, a devoted daughter, Pamela Jackson; one son, Blaine Jackson (Mary Alice); the mother of his children, Carolyn McKenzie Jackson; six grandchildren, Carol Jackson, Tiffany Moore, Stephone Poole, Brandon Jackson, Genesis Watson, Jackson Watson, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Alzheimer Society of Montgomery.
