Ruth Chappell Woodson passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was born August 24, 1919 in Pine Apple, Alabama to Oren and Phenie Chappell. She lived most of her life in Montgomery and was a charter member of Frazer United Methodist Church and Friendship Sunday School class. She was predeceased by her parents, husband John Woodson, sisters Viola Stenson and Edna Melton, brothers Alphonso and Oren Chappell; nieces Ann S. Biggs and Elizabeth M. Chesnutt, and nephew Rennie Mize. Mrs. Woodson is survived by her son John "Danny" Woodson (Betty) of Montgomery; Granddaughters Amy (Brian) Stewart of Prattville and Alyson (Joey) Oliver; Great -grandson Camden Anderson; step great-grandchildren Collin Oliver and Kylie Klein of Montgomery; nephews Jimmy (Jan) Melton, Russ (Marianne) Chappell, Al (Pat) Chappell, Sam (Ouida) Woodson, David (Tina) Woodson and niece Winona Mize. Visitation will be from 11 am to 12 noon on Monday, September 23, 2013 at Leak Memory Chapel with graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery at 12 pm.
