Scott, Carolyn North, age 87, passed away peacefully during the morning of January 16, 2014 at her home in Montgomery, AL of natural causes. She was born in Brunswick, Georgia on July 13, 1926, the second child of Henry Carlton North and Lyndon Johnson North. She is survived by two brothers, James North of Oakridge, NC, and Greer North of Palmetto, FL. After winning many honors in the Glynn County School system, she completed a degree in nursing at Emory University. For the rest of her life she ministered to the sick, with kindness and great patience. In 1948 she married Samuel T. Scott, DDS, whom she met on a blind double date. He was not HER date, but they enjoyed each other sufficiently that they remained married until his death in 1994. She was a member of Dalraida Methodist Church, and was always active in the education of her children and grandchildren all of whom survive her. Her children are Tena Blanche Scott, of Stone Mountain, GA; Susan Scott Jackson of Hattiesburg, MS; and Clayton North Scott of Blackwood, NJ. Grandchildren include Patrick Curtis Byrd of Montgomery, AL, Taylor Scott Jackson and David Nicholas Barrett Jackson, both of New Orleans, LA, Samuel Payton Scott of Atlanta, GA, and Emily Sato Scott of Blackwood, NJ. A graveside memorial will be held in late April 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery. Her family request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dalraida United Methodist Church, 3817 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery, AL 36109.
