White, Edward J.* - Pipersville  
Edward J. White, age 62, of Pipersville, PA, formerly of New Hope, PA and Springfield, PA, passed away on April 26, 2016. Beloved son of the late Paul E. and C. Therese White (nee Bertram). Loving brother of Kathleen Rago (Ernest), Michael White (Kelly), Rosemary White, Therese Waters (Joseph), Nancy Jamanow (Mazan), Diane White (Sharon Moore), David White (Debra), Marian Maurer, Philip White (Mary), Carol Jewell (Dan), Donna Cariola (Joseph), Gary White (Jeff Polson) and the late Rev. Stephen C. White. Also survived by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday, April 29, 2016 6:00-8:30 PM St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086 and to his Funeral Mass Saturday, April 30, 2016 10:00 AM. Interment private. Brightwell, Ross A.* - Maple Glenn  
Ross Brightwell, 69, of Maple Glen, PA passed away on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016. He was a native of Fayette City, PA and a graduate of Bellmar High School. He was born September 2, 1946, the son of the late Harry Read Brightwell and Lois (Bradley) Brightwell. Ross was a proud graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he was in the band and then the mascot “The Big Indian.” He served in the Army for 10 years, leaving as a Captain. He returned to IUP, earned his Master’s Degree in Public Affairs, and volunteered as the IUP’s marching band travel arranger and announcer for 14 years. He received IUP’s President’s Medal of Distinction, the highest non-academic award the college gives, for his “Boost Music in our Schools” program. Ross came to Maple Glen in 1986 to care for his mother. He was an active member of Jarrettown United Methodist Church. He served as President of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference United Methodist Men where he organized United Methodist Days at the Phillies, Dorney Park, 76er’s, the Philadelphia Zoo and an annual softball tournament. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan organizing a Steeler’s Fan Club in the area. He also loved the Phillies and was an avid supporter of Upper Dublin sports and music programs. Ross is survived by his sister, Ruth Ann McFarland, his niece, Erin Magnuson and her husband Ross, nephew, Thomas, and many Kiebler cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Jarrettown United Methodist Church, 1460 Limekiln Pike, Dresher, PA on Saturday, April 30 at 2:00 pm. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Jarrettown UMC at the address above.

Claassen, Gladys L. Moyer* - Lititz  
Gladys L. Moyer Claassen passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on Thursday April, 21, 2016 at Landis Homes in Lititz Pennsylvania. She was born May 22, 1923, the middle daughter of Abram and Sophia Lewis Moyer in Salford, Pennsylvania. In early childhood she moved with her family to a small farm in Bergy. She attended a one room school before graduating from Souderton High School in 1937. Gladys married Stewart M. Moyer in 1948, and lived in Vernfield during their 36 years of marriage. Gladys worked in the Spring House and Earlington Post Offices. In 1987, Gladys went to Akron Pennsylvania for a V. S. assignment with MCC. She met another volunteer, Alfred Claassen and they were married in 1989 at Zion Mennonite Church in Souderton. They made their home in Akron for many years before moving to Landis Homes in Lititz in 2014. Gladys is survived by her husband Alfred; daughter Janelle and husband David Zigon of Clifford Township Pennsylvania, daughters Sharon Claassen and husband Robert Still of Steilacoom Washington and Carol and husband Vern Friesen of Wallace Nebraska and son David Claassen and wife Sharon of Great Stukely UK. Grandchildren Jarrett (Sylvia Tidey) Zigon of Amsterdam Netherlands; Amber Still of Bellingham Washington; Joshua (Krystle) Friesen and their daughters Lydia, Miriam and Albany of Wallace Nebraska; Megan Friesen of Greeley Colorado and Katherine (Wiley) Friesen Sowle of Grant Nebraska; Jeremy (Arlene) Starr of Jay Vermont; Sarah Starr of Fort Knox Kentucky; and Andrea (Jonathan) Starr Hollis and son Logan of Alconbury UK., and her sister, Pauline Musselman, of Souderton and nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Stewart, sister Ruth and Ruth’s husband LeRoy Moyer, and brother-in-law Richard Musselman. Her life celebration was held at Akron Mennonite Church. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Mennonite Central Committee in lieu of flowers.
