Ada N. Halteman

Ada N. Halteman 90, of Franconia Twp., passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the Peter Becker Community, Franconia Twp. Born in Lower Salford Twp., she was a daughter of the late John S. and Mary C. (Nice) Halteman. She was employed as a seamstress in the garment industry for more than 42 years, having worked for the former SunLite Shop of Souderton for 37 years and the former Royal Pants Factory in Perkasie until her retirement in 1983. Miss Halteman was a lifetime member of Franconia Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School for more than 24 years and was a faithful member of the sewing circle. In her free time she loved to quilt, was an animal lover, especially birds and guinea pigs, and did a lot of canning and freezing produce from her large garden. Her family was very important, and she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She is survived by two brothers: Aldus N. Halteman and his wife Erma B. of Souderton, Paul N. Halteman and his wife Arlene M. of Telford, two sisters-in-law, Esther F. Halteman of Souderton, Mary S. Halteman of Harleysville, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Verna N. Halteman, and two brothers: Raymond N. and Elwood N. Halteman. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11 AM in the Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Franconia Mennonite Church at the above address.
