Anthony Charles Civello

Anthony Charles Civello 64, of Glenside, passed away suddenly on September 28th, 2013. Born on August 22, 1949 to the late Charles and Nancy Civello in Glenside, PA, Anthony-or "Tony," as he was known to family and friends-was married in 1983 to Carol (Lindley) Civello. Tony served our nation admirably, and was a hero at a time in our history when heroes were not particularly popular or celebrated. Tony served three tours in Vietnam, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal during the course of his service. After Vietnam, Tony went on to focus on family, faith and work - he was a master mason by trade, and a perfectionist at heart. His craft was his artistry, and his work spoke for itself. Tony was an active member of Calvary Assemblies of God Church in Wyncote, PA, and will be fondly remembered for his undying love of family, country, dogs and his faith. Every morning, Tony would rise early to walk his beloved dogs around Glenside and will be forever remembered as a godly, caring, generous man who walked his dogs in the morning, worked hard during the afternoons, and cared deeply and eternally for his family both night and day. Tony was preceded in death by his son, Antonio Grandy. In addition to his wife Carol, Tony is survived by daughters Lisa, Sonya, and Lydia and sons Santino and Jesse. In addition to his wife and five surviving children, Tony is survived by the following grandchildren: David, Gianna, Luke, Adam, and Anthony. In lieu of flowers, the Civello family is requesting that memorial donations be made out to Carol Civello at Susquehanna Bank, 273 Keswick Ave, Glenside, PA 19038. All family and friends are invited to the viewing, which will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a service to follow at Calvary Assemblies of God Church located on 7910 Washington Lane, Wyncote, PA 19095. The burial will be at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Traditional condolences may be sent to the home of Anthony and Carol Civello, 148 Mt. Carmel Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038.
