Donald Smith

Attorney Donald B Smith, age 98, was born November 4, 1913, and passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. He was born in Doylestown, the only son of George F. and Florence B. Smith, was graduated from Penn State University in 1934 and Temple University Law School in 1937 after which he started his law practice in Perkasie. In June of 1940, he married Pauline F. Waddington and was married to her for 62 years prior to her death in 2004. In 1943, he was drafted into the Navy and served time in the Pacific during WWII. He operated a very successful law practice in Perkasie until he retired in 1995. He was a member of MacCalla Masonic Lodge in Sellersville, the American Legion, VFW, and was an officer in the Bucks County Republican Party during the 1950 - 1960's. He was also a member of the Lehigh Consistory and The Lehigh Valley Club and was quite active at Trinity Lutheran Church while residing in Perkasie. He grew up hunting and fishing and enjoyed both. In 1994, he and his wife moved to Brittany Pointe in Lansdale where he lived out his life. He was an avid Penn State alumnus and followed football along with having season tickets from 1965 to 2009. He is survived by his two sons, George Scott Smith (wife Martha) of Malvern and Donald B Smith, Jr (wife Jacqueline) of Marion, Ohio, and their families which include four grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 19 S. Fifth St., Perkasie where the family will be receiving guests at 10:00. A memorial service will also be held at Brittany Pointe at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 3rd. Arrangements by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale, PA.
