Edward A. Hermann

Edward Hermann Edward Albert Hermann, formerly of Fort Washington, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011, his 80th birthday. The son of the late Albert H. and Edna T. Hermann, Ed was born in Roxborough, Philadelphia, where the family lived before moving to Madison Ave. in Fort Washington. Graduating from Ambler High School in 1949, where he was known as "Dutch," he worked at a kennel on Bethlehem Pike and was involved with the Fort Washington Fire Department. He joined the Navy in 1951, and served aboard the U.S.S. Mindoro during a cruise to the North Atlantic. After his service, he relocated to the New York City area, where he was a longtime employee of New York Telephone. He was married thrice, and is survived by his widow, four children, and five grandchildren. Interment was at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, N.Y.
