Hannah F. Kiernan

Hannah F. Kiernan 64, of Ambler, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 14, 2013. Born March 9, 1949 in Montreal, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Eileen (Scullion) Kiernan. Hannah was raised in Wayne, PA where she attended St. Katharine of Sienna School and graduated from Immaculata University. She entered the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and taught grade school and high school for over 20 years. Hannah subsequently enrolled in the Gwynedd Mercy College School of Nursing where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Villa in Flourtown for five years and, most recently, as Nurse Manager with Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital in Fort Washington. Hannah was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Ambler, and was involved in several prayer groups at St. Anthony's, Epiphany of Our Lord (Plymouth Meeting), and Corpus Christi Church (Lansdale). She attended daily Mass at St. Anthony, but she loved to attend Mass in many other parishes as well and became lovingly known as the "Roamin' Catholic" to all her friends. Her devotion to her faith, her hearty Irish wit and laughter, and devoted friendship will be missed by all who knew her. A viewing followed by the Rosary will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A second viewing will begin 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, 259 Forest Ave., Ambler, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Church Cemetery, Lansdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to In His Sign Network, 136 Garrett Ave., Rosemont, PA 19010, or online at www.inhissign.com.
