Helen M. Swartz

Helen M. Swartz Helen M. (Sykes) Swartz of Blue Bell, formerly of the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia, died Nov. 15, 2011, at her daughter's home in Collegeville with her loving family at her side. She was 85. Born in Branchdale, Pa., July 25, 1926, she was the wife of the late Anthony Miles Swartz. She was the daughter of the late Buton and Margaret (Lawler) Sykes. Mrs. Swartz was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Plymouth Meeting. She was a member of the Questers historical preservation organization and volunteered with the . She is survived by a son, James Swartz of Blue Bell; three daughters, Margaret Swartz of Blue Bell, Kathleen Swartz-McQuaig of Carlisle, Pa., and Betty Jean Swartz of Collegeville; four grandchildren, Matthew McQuaig, Megan McQuaig Hjelmstad, Jamie Swartz-Hanley and Michaela McQuaig; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Nov. 21 at Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, 3050 Walton and Township Line roads, Plymouth Meeting. Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Moore & Snear Funeral Home, 19 E. Germantown Pike, East Norriton, and Monday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Memorial contributions in Helen Marie Swartz's memory may be made to Perpetual Novena in Honor of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, c/o The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, 475 East Chelten Ave.- Germantown, Philadelphia, PA 19144-5785.
