Josephine Senner (Jody) Craul

Josephine (Jody) Senner Craul has joined her loving husband and treasured siblings together with our Lord and Savior in our heaven above. Jody, is survived by Bruce, who lives in Destin Florida together with his wife Debbie, Wendy who also lives in the Destin Florida area and Linda Craul Turner, and her husband David who live in Millersville Florida. Before passing on the 29th of July she was able to have many happy times last year with her children, her six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. If fact she was in Florida for five weeks last year and many memories were made. Jody aside from being a phenomenal Mother and Housewife, as attested to by her children was very active in the Community. She served as the Secretary Treasurer for many years of American Legion Penny pack Post 800, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Girl Scout Cookie Chairman, a Sunday School Teacher and Assistant Sunday School Superintendent when her children were growing up. She was involved with many Ladies Circles at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, worked with the Head Start Program, and always stepped up for anything that involved serving as a volunteer. Jody had many hobbies and was an avid collector of many different types of collections. Her hobbies included, gardening, antique collecting and making artistic prints with dried flowers. Her flower beds at her home were well photographed publicly and privately as she knew every species since she was a sponge for knowledge and had the drive to read about all of the aspects of gardening. A spin off of her love of gardening, was her involvement with local garden clubs and the country's finest flower show, The Philadelphia Flower Show. She worked this show until her health made it prohibitive. Nevertheless she never stopped saying that besides missing her grandchildren who live too many miles away, missed everyday not being able to garden. Jody won many ribbons and awards for her miniature flower arrangements and dried prints that she made. Her favorite hobby though was not gardening, but was being a member of a Philadelphia chapter of Questers. Questers is a special organization where people gather to gain new friendships, discuss the fascinating topics of antiques and history, and to share their collections and personal knowledge with many others. This was her passion. She learned as much as she could about her collections, their values, their place in history, and she loved to share that knowledge with all who would listen. People that toured her home often likened the tour to spending time at a museum with its director. She was fascinated to show everyone the little gadgets that were used a hundred years ago to peel an apple or imprint a butter patty or wash out an eye with solution. This will always be her legacy and she touched so many people with her knowledge and excitement of this hobby. Jody will be missed by many, especially by her family members, but her personality traits, her passion always to learn more, her demeanor to always put everyone else first, and her faith will live on with her children forever. Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service at 11 AM on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Street & Churchville Roads, Southampton, PA 18966. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 877 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966 or The American Legion, c/o Margaret Harding 364 Maple Ave, Southampton, PA 18966.
