Karen Korman

Karen Stone Korman of Jenkintown, PA-- left this world on Thursday, September 27, 2012, surrounded by family and her dearest friends, after a brave battle against Ovarian Cancer. Born on October 17, 1955 to Mary and Samuel Stone, Karen was raised in Ardsley, PA. She graduated from Queen of Peace and then Bishop McDevitt High School. On September 12, 2012, she celebrated her 32nd wedding anniversary with her husband, Peter and her children Erica and Frank. Karen lit up the lives of those around her with animated story-telling, a hearty, rambunctious laugh and famously delicious, hand-crafted baked goods. Serving in the insurance industry for more than three decades, 22 of those years at Harleysville Insurance Company, she built a reputation for determination and a thirst for knowledge. Karen forged her career beginning as a Claims Adjustor, advancing to Negotiator, Claims Supervisor, and ultimately to Litigation Manager-where her innate leadership shined brightest. In both her professional and personal life, she was feisty yet fair-minded, making her an advocate for the afflicted and a formidable opponent. Consistently inspiring friends and family with her unwavering steadfastness, Karen embodied strength and vigor in all aspects of her life. Karen is predeceased by her father and her sister, Cindy Brothers of New Orleans, LA. Left to mourn Karen's passing and celebrate her life are her husband, Peter; her mother, Mary of Ardsley, PA; her daughter, Erica; her son, Frank; her four siblings: Veronica of North Hills, PA; Kevin (Debbie) of Chalfont, PA; Daniel of Willow Grove, PA; Jason of Ardsley, PA; niece and nephews: Samantha Stone, Sean Stone, Samuel Stone and Dennis Stone; her aunts: Carolyn (Joe) O'Dea, Anne Palazzolo, Barbara Stone; her cousins: Lee O'Dea, Joe O'Dea, Nicole Keating, Anthony Palazzolo, Michael Palazzolo, David Palazzolo, Keith Stone, Scott Stone and Tracey Wojtkilewicz.
