Levi C. Alderfer

Levi Alderfer Levi C. Alderfer - 87, of Franconia Twp., PA went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Rockhill Mennonite Community. He was the loving husband for 65 years to Arlene H. (Musselman) Alderfer. Born in Franconia Twp., PA to the late Levi and Edna (Clemmer) Alderfer. Levi was a self-employed farmer in Franconia Twp. for over 60 years. In addition to his farming, he was a commission merchant at various famers markets in Philadelphia for many years. Levi was a lifetime member of Franconia Mennonite Church where he served as a former Sunday School teacher and a longtime member of the church's cemetery committee. In addition to his wife, Arlene, he is survived by: Nancy Leatherman (Daughter) & husband, Daniel of Hamburg, PA John Alderfer (Son) & wife, Janet of Telford, PA Ruth Bower (Daughter) & husband, Dennis of Telford, PA 10 Grandchildren; 25 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his four sisters, Alma Clemmer, Mary Anders, Martha Mininger & Edna Freed and his brother, Abram Alderfer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Franconia Mennonite Church, 613 Harleysville Pike, Telford, PA 18969 where friends may meet with the family from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Franconia Mennonite Cemetery.
