Margaret S. McGann(1929 - 2014)

Margaret S. (Peggy) McGann, 84, of Ambler, PA, died on May 5, 2014 at Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler. She was the beloved wife of John (Jack) McGann for 60 years. Peggy was born in New York, NY on July 31, 1929 to the late Francis J. and Margaret (Cronin) Sweeney. She received her MA in Education. Margaret was a school teacher who taught in the New York Public School System, at J.W. Hallahan High School, and at Gwynedd Mercy Academy. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, traveling with her family, and spending winters in Florida. She established the 4-H Club in Upper Dublin. The real love of her life, besides her husband, was her 18 grandchildren. Along with her husband, she is survived by her five children: Margie Lydon (E.J.) of Horsham, Mary Pat Mars (Cliff) of Doylestown, Bud (John Jr.) McGann (Lori Brzakala) of Worcester, Kevin McGann (Kim) of Old Tappan, NJ, Tom McGann (Carla) of Hatfield; and 18 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Patrick McGann, a sister Joan Donnelly, and brothers Frank and John Sweeney. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Saturday, May 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Church, 1565 Temple Drive Maple Glen, PA. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:30-9 PM and Saturday from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA 19002. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Artman Lutheran Home Benevolent Fund, 250 N.
