Robert Charles Ridout(1928 - 2014)

Robert (Bob) Charles Ridout, 85, a long time resident of Marco Island, FL and a current resident of Montgomery County, PA, passed away on February 5, 2014 peacefully in his sleep. Bob was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on May 15, 1928, the son of the late William and Anna Ridout. He graduated from Pelham High School where he played football and baseball and earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the Order of the Arrow. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and then went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and his Master's from the University of Florida. Bob worked as a regional electric sales manager in the Philadelphia area for more than 25 years. He enjoyed many years of boating on the Chesapeake Bay with family and friends. Bob was an avid tennis, golf and bridge player, winning numerous tournaments in each over the years on Marco Island. Bob was happily married to Pat (Reynolds) for 49 years. He is survived by his devoted wife and three children, Bill and wife Cindy, Craig, Linda and husband Marv McKown; six grandsons: Dan (wife Katie), Adam (wife Malorie), and Will Ridout, Bill, Brian and Tim McKown and one great-granddaughter, Vivienne Ridout. Bob is also survived by his sister Betty McCarthy of Boca Raton, FL. A memorial service will be held for the family in early April.
