Vernon L. Cheatham Jr.(1942 - 2014)

Vernon L. Cheatham, Jr., age 72, of Ambler, died on March 22, 2014 at Easton Nursing Home in Easton, PA. He was the beloved husband of Helene B. (Brownstein) Cheatham. He was born in Newport, VT on January 10, 1942 to the late Vernon L. Cheatham, Sr. and Wanda (McNeil) Cheatham. Vernon was a graduate of Lower Pottsgrove High School and Drexel University with a BA in Business. He was a self-employed owner of a computer store, and worked until he no longer could due to his illness, Pick's Disease, a rare neurodegenerative disease. Vernon was a fan of all sports, and enjoyed playing softball in his younger years. He also enjoyed playing poker with his friends. Vernon was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ambler where he served as a past Deacon, and was a member of the Ambler Rotary Club. In addition to his wife Helene, he is survived by 3 children Nora Benko and Bernie of Gilbertsville, Wendy Cheatham and Constantin of Ambler, Vernon L. Cheatham, III and Amy of Philadelphia, and 1 grandson Tyler Cheatham. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler. The Viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. Interment in George Washington Memorial Park.
