Bernice Heebner Bernice Elizabeth Heebner (nee Sheporaitis), age 85, a resident of the Rydal Park Retirement Community and longtime resident of Abington, died November 28, 2012. Born in Philadelphia, she was the only child of the late Bernard S and the late Gladys H. Sheporaitis. She married the late William J. Heebner in 1957. Mrs. Heebner went to Frankford High School, graduated from Temple University, where in 1949; she earned her Bachelors degree in English. She then worked for Bell Telephone of PA and AT&T for more than 30 years before retiring. Later, she worked for Penn State University, Abington Campus, for 15 years. Mrs. Heebner is survived by a cousin living in New Jersey. She was a long time active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Glenside. She loved music, playing the piano and her garden. She had a special affection for the boxer dog breed. She owned five boxers throughout her life, two of which were rescued dogs. A memorial service was held at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Glenside. Burial was in the Memorial Courtyard of the church. Easton Road, Glenside, PA 19038. Arrangements were made by Baron Rowland Funeral Home in Abington.
